Vacancy : Senior Software Engineer in Test - Bristol

About the role:

Join the team that tests the development tools used to create every PlayStation game. 

Game developers work under tight deadlines to produce high performance games. They demand reliable development tools that will help them make the next great game. You will play a key role by ensuring they receive only the highest quality development tools. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Producing the overall test delivery plan, test tasks and activities; track progress and implement strategies to recover slippage
  • Defining roles and responsibilities for the test team
  • Leading the test team (about 3 people)
  • Hands on developing tests for new applications, new features and regressions, automating tests as part of our continuous integration systems and executing tests manually
  • Implementing a well-structured approach to test defect management and incident reporting
  • Reporting test results clearly (including performance and coverage)
  • Work with IT, to ensure the availability of appropriate test environments and data.

Qualifications

  • BSc in Computer Science or equivalent. 

Essential skills

  • Proven experience in developing tests for software applications
  • A solid understanding of software testing techniques
  • Good C# programming skills
  • Understanding of C++
  • Experience in triaging bugs and creating reproducible tests
  • Familiarity with software build tools, issue tracking and source control systems

Desirable skills

  • Experience of Microsoft Windows applications
  • Experience of automating tests
  • Experience of Microsoft Visual Studio
  • Experience of testing development tools
