About the role

We continually enhance our in-house tooling to improve turnaround times and maintain the quality that our customers expect.

To that end, we are looking for a DevOps engineer who can apply SRE methodology to further develop our continuous integration service and other systems.

The current infrastructure is built upon Jenkins, Ansible, Docker Git, vCenter across Linux and Windows platform. We look to optimise and automate wherever possible, leading to the key objective of enabling the team of world class engineers to reduce their build and test times.

Responsibilities

  • Responding to engineers’ issues and incidents across our services
  • Diagnose problems and inefficiencies in our continuous integration systems and workflows used by our development and test engineers
  • Build, test, deploy and maintain services like Jenkins, Nexus and Gitea
  • Documenting new services and add to the team knowledge base
  • Ensure that appropriate tools are in place for monitoring systems
  • Review best practices and emerging concepts in Infrastructure Automation to improve our systems

Qualifications and experience

  • BSc in Computer Science / Engineering degree or equivalent industry experience

Essential Skills

  • You have maintained and operated continuous integration systems, ideally Jenkins
  • Recognize the value of automation and reproducibility
  • Issue and incident management with exposure to tracking and task management systems e.g. Jira, ServiceNow, Splunk On-Call etc.
  • You have deep experience of Linux or Windows systems administration, ideally both
  • You have experience of configuration management automation, ideally Ansible
  • Experience of virtualization (Docker, vCenter) in production environment
  • Knowledge of web Services (nginx, HAProxy)
  • An understanding of networking knowledge (DNS, TCP/IP)
  • You are competent in one or more of the following languages:  Python, PowerShell, Golang
  • You are proficient with Git

Desirable skills

Knowledge and experience of some of the following:

  • Container Orchestration (i.e. Kubernetes)
  • Other SCM tools: (Perforce, SVN)
  • Metrics (Grafana, InfluxDB, Telegraf, Kapacitor)
  • Packaging (NuGet/Chocolatey, MSI)
  • Cloud (AWS)
  • Agile working (SCRUM, Kanban)

About SN Systems

We create development tools for PlayStation® platforms including PlayStation®5 and PlayStation®VR. From debuggers and performance analyzers to compilers and target communication servers, our products are designed to make PlayStation® developers' work easier and more efficient.

As a team under Sony Interactive Entertainment's (SIE) Hardware Engineering and Operation division working on research and development, we have a deep understanding of game developers' needs, and use our expertise to create a range of advanced development tools.
