ProView for PlayStation®2 provides the fastest download and file serving solution for the Sony Computer Entertainment PlayStation®2 Development Tool DTL-T10000/DTL-T15000 and i.LINK equipped Sony Computer Entertainment PlayStation®2 development hardware DTL-HXXXXX series consoles.
ProView is an application that speeds up game development by allowing you to preview artwork and run test builds of your game on the Sony Computer Entertainment PlayStation®2 development hardware DTL-HXXXXX series versions of the PlayStation®2 console, from your development Windows PC, rather than on the Sony Computer Entertainment PlayStation®2 Development Tool DTL-T10000/DTL-T15000 hardware itself, which is often quite different. ProView can do this because it offers the fastest available download and file-serving solution for PlayStation®2 development systems, using a high-speed i.LINK (IEEE 1394) interface.
ProView 2.0 and greater uses a new SN i.LINK driver. This SN version saves 260KB of IOP RAM compared with ProView v1.1 - total memory usage of ProView 2.0 is now merely 156KB. The new driver increases the download speed from PC to PlayStation®2 to 3.8MB/s!
ProView now supports the Target Manager SDK features for getting and setting target memory.

ProView can now be run from an existing ProDG license! No need to transfer the ProView license to a developer PC just to write or test a plugin!
The monitor sits below 1MB leaving the rest of the memory available for the ELF to utilize. The monitor continues to run as a dormant thread so that the PlayStation®2 may be quickly reset via the Target Manager without the need for a lengthy full reboot.
ProView has been designed to require little code change to enable existing code to run with it. Simply comment out a few functions that aren't needed when developing with ProView, and you can be up and running.

ProView displays TTY output from your running code, and supports ANSI coloring, so you can highlight important messages, or group various message types together.
Using the provided command line utilities and the Target Manager SDK, ProView provides load/run and reset functionality to be automated from batch files or your own custom Windows application. Write plug-ins for artwork or audio applications to give quick testing cycles on the Sony Computer Entertainment PlayStation®2 development hardware DTL-HXXXXX series.
To highlight the usability of ProView we have included several samples. One of these sample utilities is the Graphics Preview Tool. It allows you to export a model from Alias' Maya modelling package and have it rapidly converted, uploaded, rendered and displayed by a Sony Computer Entertainment PlayStation®2 development hardware DTL-HXXXXX model.
